MacBrickout is the KING of brick games. Or, shall I say, was. Until BrickWarrior came on to the scene, MacBrickout ruled the playing field for all games in the genre.

As we has computer studies on the Mac's in year 11, we discovered that the only way to keep our sanity while using these infernal machines, was to keep up a regular dose of MacBrickout. The game was immensely popular, with its smooth animation and colourful graphics, and competitions were held as to who could get the highest 'mult'. Ian Lawson and Scott Meltzer contested fiercely in that ares, and the most recent record is around 800, to Ian. Scott even managed to finish the game one day, in about 60 minutes of solid play.

When we discovered that we would likely not get to play MacBrickout in year 12, terror hit. People were already considering the withdrawal effects that would tear their lives apart, as they were forced to WORK in computer studies. So, Phillip Shaw and me set about creating a windows brickout game, in an attempt to save the lives of all addicted to the game.

So started a vigorous period of programming, taking screenshots of MacBrickout so we could get the graphics and levels off it, and the rest is history. The results of this endeavor culminated in BrickWarrior, and the MacBrickout episode.

Here is a glimpse from behind-the-scenes work on getting the MacBrickout levels into BrickWarrior:
